Synopsis
Matilda is a 1996 American fantasy comedy film co-produced and directed by Danny DeVito from a screenplay by Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord, based on the 1988 children's novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The film stars Mara Wilson as Matilda Wormwood, a young girl with telekinetic powers who uses them to stand up to her cruel parents and tyrannical school principal. The film also features Danny DeVito as Matilda's father, Rhea Perlman as her mother, Embeth Davidtz as her teacher, and Pam Ferris as the principal.
